Nokia Lumia 630 is the first Nokia phone that runs on Windows Phone 8.1. Rather than showcasing the new OS on flagship phone, they have selected to roll this out on the budget offering. Nokia Lumia 630 is the first phone that was released after Microsoft taken over Nokia, the Finnish firm, which was once the world’s largest phone maker.
Build and Design
Nokia Lumia 630 offers dual SIM capability while it is also available with single SIM with little fewer prices. Phone appears like the mash up between Nokia X and Lumia 620. From front, we have similar corner look & from back, it is built-up like Nokia X. Nokia 630 feels durable and rugged just like all Lumias in the segment.
Nokia Lumia 630 is powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 mobile chipset with Adreno 305 GPU for graphics. It is same chipset powering Moto G also. Despite minimal 512 MB of RAM, interface is very snappy.
Memory & Sound
Nokia Lumia 630 is packed with 8GB of storage out of which only about 5GB is actually available for the users while remaining is reserved for the mobile operating system and related updates. It also has a microSD card slot which supports up to 128GB. Speaker is built below it and really is loud for the alerts & media playback.
Display gets the generous bump in the size to 4.5 inches from 4 inches of Lumia 525. But, resolution stays same at 480×854. It is equipped with IPS display panel which gives good viewing angles & color reproduction for the phone in the segment. Sunlight legibility also is very good.
Nokia Lumia 630 is packed with 1830 mAh Lithium-Ion battery. But users reported that the built-in 1830 mAh battery does provide a decent run time which is one of the major concerns in this phone. But the good part is that the battery is packaged in removable mode. So if you are a heavy user, you can buy an extra battery to keep your phone active for longer duration.
Nokia Lumia 630 ditches the capacitive buttons for the on screen buttons. Phone lacks front facing camera that is very disappointing.
Nokia has omitted 2 crucial sensors in Lumia 630, proximity & ambient light sensor. Former helps to turn display off while you are on the call while latter helps to automatically adjust brightness of display.
Nokia Lumia 630 device with dual-SIM has been priced at Rs 11,500, while its single SIM version is available for Rs 10,500.
