How to activate Special folders or Secret GOD mode in Windows

If you have already used Windows previous versions like Windows 7 or Windows 8, you may know the “GOD Mode” or enabling special folders. It seems, GOD mode is available in Windows 10 too. GOD mode in Windows is basically a Windows control panel shortcut folder to give easy access to all windows settings. God mode is specially beneficial for techie persons. Same like GOD mode, you can create more system folders  for easy access. In this blog, I will explaining how to enable Special folders or  system folder and God mode control folder as well as how it works.

What is GOD Mode

GOD mode is actually a special folder that gives access to Windows settings and control panel from just one single place. Actually, God mode is a “Master control panel” giving the access to all control panel tasks.  Administrative tools, Auto-play, credential manger, date and time, color, management, device manager, file explorer settings, file history, internet and network, power options, programs and features, security, system settings and much more, almost every setting you can easily find from just one single GOD mode folder.

Scene Behind GOD Mode or How it Works

GOD mode in Windows is a System folder termed as “All tasks”. Windows system folder are identified by CSIDs(global unique string) that you can find in System Registry under  “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID”. So when we name any folder with these unique string(CSIDs),  it represents associated system folder. For “All Tasks” that means ” Master control panel” or God mode CSID is “{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}”. On extending this unique string to folder name turns the folder into system folder containing all control panel tasks.GOD mode in Windows 10

Exactly the same way as God mode, there are many more system folders or special folders that you can enable for easy and quick access by appending associated CSID to Folder name.

When to Enable GOD mode

As GOD mode in Windows gives an easy access to all type of settings in properly organized way from just one folder, so its very useful for persons who are already acquainted with Windows settings and know what happens on altering them. So if you are not good at managing operating system, interfering with settings can damage your OS. So be cautious while using GOD mode.
